Seed Aquaponics was given the opportunity to lead four students from Allegheny College and five adults on a cultural excursion to Thailand over the summer of 2015. We were able to complete an aquaponic system for Treetop Country, the village eco-tourism center, where we stayed for most of our trip. And we also had a lot of fun riding a river boat and elephants, visiting temples and taking a Thai cooking class from Iron Chef winner, Sasi Meechai.
Here are a few photos from our trip:
Eating delicious food in Wiang Pa Pao.
Taking Thai Cooking Classes with Sasi Meechai.
Riding Elephants and River Boats.
Visiting the local school children.
Learning to plant rice.
We were able to enjoy the peaceful surroundings of northern Thailand, but the best part was our team spending time with the community at Treetop Country in Wiang Pa Pao. It was such a pleasure getting to know all of you better during this trip. We hope there are many more trips to come!
